Josh’s studio and on location classes are temporarily suspended due to current conditions.

His classes are 75 minutes long. Josh provides mats and blocks, however you can use your own if you would prefer. It is also advised to bring either warmer layers or a blanket for the start and the end of each class.

The start of class consists on settling the body and mind by spending a few minutes connecting to your breath. This is known as Pranayama. After this you will dive into the warm up and begin the Asana – the physical practise of linking the breath with each movement. Josh usually runs a 6 week cycle. Each week will have a theme that targets an area of the body/peak pose and a mental focus. It does not matter whether you arrive at week 1 or week 6, each class is a new class. Every class finishes with Savasana, just a few minutes relaxation to cement the work you have just done and to leave with a calm body and mind.

workshops + retreats

Workshops are one-off classes. They can be anything from 90 minutes to 3 hours long. A workshop will have a theme attached to it whether a physical focus or a spiritual focus. This could either be a Peak-Pose to work towards, an area of the body to focus on or a yogic intention.

Workshops are a great way to deepen your practise by diving into more intrinsic details and drills that a normal class might not be able to cover.

Your next Eye-land Yoga workshop is:

One to One / Two to One

Whether group classes isn’t your thing or maybe you’re in need of specific treatment, One to One’s are private sessions that are tailored to you.  Josh has clients referred to him from Osteopaths, physiotherapists and massage therapists. One to One Yoga a fantastic way to speed up your training and/or rehabilitation. It is also a fast way to really target your technique and work on the poses or areas of the body you might struggle with.
Josh incorporates his personal training and sports coaching background to help tailor to your needs.

These Sessions can either take place at Josh’s private studio overlooking the Blackwater estuary on Mersea Island or at a location of your choice, often the clients home.

Two to One sessions are a great way to get into yoga with your friend. Just like One to One sessions, Two to One sessions are private, can be semi-tailored to both of your needs and can also be at Josh’s studio or at your chosen location.

“Inhale The Future, Exhale The Past” – “Control your breath and control your mind”

Josh has run a number of corporate classes in Essex & Suffolk and surrounding areas. Yoga is excellent at preventing and/or easing discomfort or stiffness from sitting at a desk all day, can boost productivity and also be great for team building and bringing together people from different parts of an organisation. With the Health and Safety Executive stating that 11.3 million working days were lost in 2013/14 due to stress, depression and anxiety, and 8.3 million days lost to musculoskeletal disorders, one or two yoga classes a week could be one of the best investments your company makes this year.

If you or your colleagues would like to feel the benefits of yoga or meditation while you’re at work I can bring classes to you. Classes can be arranged before work, at lunchtime or after work depending on your location. Please note that I do not charge per student, but classes can be attended by up to 15 people. Larger class numbers can be accommodated on request. Mats and equipement will be provided.

Please get in touch for further information.
